  • Kangaroos got their name from European explorers when they asked Austrailia's native people what the strange hopping animal was called. The natives replied "Kangaroo", which meant "I don't understand". The explorers thought this was the animal's name and it stuck!

  • Kangaroos are marsupials. This means they have a pouch in which they raise their joeys, or baby kangaroos.

  • There are over 40 different types of Kangaroos!
